About Me

I am just your local friendly Psychotherapist. I am passionate about psychotherapy. I thoroughly enjoy working with a diverse clientele. Psychotherapy is a very special experience and I appreciate being trusted with my clients narrative. I pride myself on my ability to adapt my approach to meet my clients unique needs. I work with my clients at their pace and encourage them to lead the direction of their experience.

My goal is to guide clients to see their strengths and abilities, and to provide them with any tools that may be helpful and appropriate for them. The journey towards healing can take time. I am patient, encouraging, and mindful of how life can throw us obstacles that may take our attention. Sometimes we just have a bad day, and that is okay. We can spend your 50 minutes processing what you feel is most important to you at that time.

I have extensive experience working with vulnerable and diverse populations. I have worked with clients on social assistance, clients working with family and children’s services, individuals recovering from – or currently in – unhealthy relationships with drugs or alcohol, and individual’s that do not have housing. I have worked with men recently released from incarceration and men that have been recently charged with domestic violence. I have facilitated Partner Assault Response, Caring Dads, and Anger Management groups. I have worked in a variety of organizations and have learned quite a bit. Throughout my experience, my number one take away was that I love what I do. I love helping others.

During my previous places of employment, I have realized that I was not fulfilled by referring my clients out to therapy. I noticed that there was an extensive gap in services and long waitlists. Counselling services were not accessible to everyone. I watched my clients wait. I felt a huge disconnect when they moved on to therapy. I wanted to help my clients through their journey and remind them of their potential. That is when I decided to go back to school and become a psychotherapist.

I am licensed to work anywhere in Ontario. If you are open to virtual or video sessions, then you do not have to be within the Niagara Region. Your referrals mean a lot to me. I value every interaction that I have with my clients.

My Approach

I have a laid back and casual approach to therapy. I use humour when appropriate. I challenge when needed. I am always listening to hear you.

I believe that there is always something to learn, and due to this, I continue to research, read, and participate in trainings so that I can provide my clients with the resources and knowledge that could benefit them.

Sometimes things can feel overwhelming. We can lose focus, motivation, or feel lost. That is okay, and it is absolutely normal! Having a supportive and safe space to express yourself, without fear of judgement can be beneficial. Identifying your priorities can help organize your thoughts and start the path to healing.

The approaches that I include in my practice include:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Motivational Interview
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Gottman’s Method
Narrative Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Strength Based Therapy
Grief Therapy
Attachment Therapy

I am a proud ally to people from oppressed and diverse groups.

Ready to talk? I’m ready to listen.
